It is commonly reported that horses exhibit odd behavior (flighty and distracted) prior to storms, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, and tsunamis. Some believe this phenomenon may be related to ultrasonic waves or electromagnetic signals. Before one major volcanic eruption at Mount St. Helens in the U.S. , a herd of horses was reported to have safely migrated away from the area, prior to the eruption.
